How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6019085 / WPW10300022 Icemaker

Ordered the new unit and replaced it. 

Changed ice maker out. 

Replaced ice maker. You will need 1/4" nut driver and Phillips screwdriver. 

Replaced the ice maker. 

The ice maker slowly started making less ice until it stopped completely. Tested the water valve at the ice maker jumper terminals. Water valve was good. Changed the water filter just to eliminate the possibilty. Then I tested the ice maker at the jumper terminals. It would always make one cycle of ice and then stop working completely. Then I ordered an offbrand ice maker from a well known site. Ended up sending it back because it didn't work either. Decided to go ahead and order the oem ice maker from here. Now we're back up and running. I actually have more ice than I need now. In my experience just go ahead and order the original part and avoid the frustration. 

After 3 cheap aftermarket inlet water valves I finally decided to buy an oem water inlet valve from appliance parts pro and that solved the problem 

Replaced it with new maker 

Replaced the ice maker. 

Got a new ice maker and installed. Starting flowing water to the tray in a couple minute's followed by the wonderful sound of ice dropping within an hour. 

Model number for refrigerator is on an inside panel. Researched on AppliancePartsPro.com for a match. Removed the old ice maker and installed the new. Very doable for a DYI with basic tools. Note that if you can't see screws that support the ice maker use a mirror to line up the nut driver. Recommend a long shaft/magnetic nut driver / I didn't have one but would have made the removal easier. My refrigerator is 8 years old and the original icemaker was nasty looking and the sanitary coating was peeling off so I am glad that it failed so now I have clean ice.
