The Ice Maker is an OEM part for Whirlpool refrigerators. Designed to efficiently produce ice, this ice maker ensures your refrigerator dispenses fresh and clear ice cubes whenever you need them. It integrates seamlessly into compatible models, maintaining the integrity and performance of your appliance.

Signs that it's time to replace your ice maker include a noticeable decrease in ice production, ice cubes that are smaller or misshaped, and unusual noises during the ice-making process. These issues can arise from a variety of causes such as a malfunctioning water inlet valve, a clogged filter, or even temperature inconsistencies within the freezer compartment.

Symptoms of a bad Ice Maker include:

  • Inability to produce ice
  • Producing ice at a slower rate than usual
  • Ice cubes are not ejected from the mold
  • Water leaks in the freezer compartment

This OEM Whirlpool part can also be used on Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears brand appliances.

For Whirlpool Icemaker (Part Number: OEM18057264)

Jesse for Model Number WRS315SDHZ02

The ice maker has stopped making ice entirely. We never noticed any water leaking into the ice bin, nor any clogging, as others have mentioned about their ice maker. I was thinking it might be the water inlet valve, but now all of a sudden, the ice maker has started rotating and won’t stop. It’s just keeps constantly rotating. The water feeds just fine to the water dispenser in the door, so is it the water inlet valve, or the entire ice maker assembly?

1 Answer

Hello Jesse, thank you for contacting AppliancePartsPros.com The icemaker assembly WPW10300022 has lost position and will need to be replaced.

I purchased a new ice maker but reused original wiring harness. Installed icemaker, waited over 24 hours and no ice. Did the jumper trick between T & H and dial did not click or move. Checked power with meter between N & V and nothing. Used a voltage detector and there is voltage in the wires at the rear harness from the fuse to where it attaches to clip at rear of freezer but no voltage detected in wires past fuse towards front clip of icemaker. What'ca think.

1 Answer

Tru, Use the harness that came with the icemaker because it sounds like the fuse is bad.

George, Check to make sure that the bail arm is in the slot behind the motor and pushed all the way in. If it is then it sounds like the icemaker is faulty and would need to be replaced.

Jay, This would most likely be an issue with the mold of the icemaker deteriorating and the icemaker would need to be replaced.

At 4:11 in the repair video, after tightening the two 1/4-inch hex head screws of the upper mounting bracket, the tech is seen installing a mounting screw below the icemaker which didn't seem to be mentioned or shown when removing the old icemaker. When would this screw have been removed? Also - unrelated. I have received an OEM Whirlpool replacement icemaker, WPW10300022 (AP6019085), and there is a small stainless clip loose in the box. Might this be a replacement clip for the inline fuseholder? Thank you

1 Answer

DIY Dave, The icemaker has a L-shaped bracket on the bottom and the screw would need to be removed to take the icemaker out. As for the bracket you found, if it is a U-shaped bracket then yes it goes on the side of the icemaker for the fuse.

Daryl, The icemaker would have had a fuse in the wire harness that would come with it. Test to see if you are getting 120 vac to the icemkaer. If there is not power to the icemaker then it would likely be an issue with the control board.

David for Model Number WRS321SDHV01

I just bought a new icemaker (part number WPW10300022) for my Whirpool refrigerator (model number provided). It does nothing......just like the old one. I've tried the manual cycling trick using a wire to connect T and H ports. Nothing. Just like the old one. Now I am wondering if the problem might be the fridge not supplying electricity to the icemaker through the wiring harness. How can I verify if electricity is getting to the icemaker? There are four wires/connections in the wiring harness clip. Is there a way to find out what sort of voltage readings I should be seeing from specific wires? I don't want to risk frying something by reading across the wrong wires. Thanks for your help.

1 Answer

David, Based on the information provided the voltage to the ice maker can be checked with a multimeter at terminals L to N for 120vac
