How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4010034 / 12001596 Spark Module Kit

New spark module - hardest part was removing and re installing Jenn Air downdraft exhaust piping 

I removed the four gas burners; then the four screws that held the two gas supply lines. Then I removed the top, then the right side panel. The spark module was at the bottom, from there it was pretty simple. 

Ordered the spark module kit, replaced the spark module and resolved the problem. In my case (Maytag GS5770ADCM), installation was more difficult than normal and required removing burner top grates, burners, chrome pans, burner housings, entire top of range, top bottom pan, disconnecting 2 gas lines to right side burners, and modifing original module mounting bracket. Note that there are many screws that need to be removed and DIYers should mark/track each removal for ease of reinstall. Recommend that DIYers identify location of spark module and amount of work required before attelmpting repairs. Degree of difficulty in replacing spark module will vary depending on brand and model. 

Replaced the solinoid 

First of all, the part arrived very quickly. I have ordered from you guys before. A while back I started doing all of my own appliance repairs. This time, the stove burners in my rent house would not light. There was no spark on any of the burners. I ordered a spark module. It arrived in about 3 days. The stove (Majic Chef) had a panel on the back held on with one screw. Behind it was the spark module. It came off and the new one went in. I spent more time moving the stove than replacing the part. It works perfectly now. I don't ordinarily participate in surveys, but your service is exceptional. 

Chatted with the online pro and he gave me the recommendation I needed and a link to the part (Spark Module) I should order. Very helpful. Part arrived within 2 days as promised. Video instruction was very helpful. Only issue was the bracket they supplied did not work with my stove. So, I could not completely remount the Spark Module properly. It still s works fine though.

I replaced the spark module which was super easy and all 4 burners light like they should now. 

Installed new spark module 

We have not yet installed the AppliancePartsPros spark module. After taking the stove top off *, we determined that the issue might be the spark module so ordered that from you. By the time it came, the stove burners were lighting again (poltergeist?) so we decided to wait to see if the problem recurred. However, we are grateful as the repair person we called in (who charged even though he did nothing) had told us that the stove was "old" and the parts were no longer available so we should just replace the stove. We did not want to do that so at that point we started looking for the manual and parts on line. We eventually found your site. * I entered the time we think the repair will take as we have not done it yet. However, the diagnosis did take time as taking the stove top off was difficult as the screws had deteriorated. If that were not the case, our tool list below would have been just a screwdriver and the diagnosis much shorter. We anticipate replacing the spark module.
