Well, first I broke the door lock tugging on the door. I was able to trace the broken black wire down the side and to the back to a sensor. I couldn't find the break. I cut the bad wire out and spliced in a fresh wire, fixing the original problem. Then I put in the door latch. It couldn't have been easier. You do need a torx bit to fit the two screw, but I had one. Out with the bad, in with the new. Done.
