How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6014074 / WP9761048 Infinite Switch (Dual Surface Element)

Changed the infinite switch. I ordered it and and received it the next day. It took about 10 minutes to replace. Very easy job. The price was with shipping was over 10 dollars cheaper than the local appliance store. Great experience! 

Researched the whirlpool manual and used the model number to identify the switch element which matched part at Appliance parts Pros. Watched the video on Appliance Parts. The job was easy to do. What took a little longer was cleaning around the range once it was pulled out. Very satisfied with service and hints provided by Appliance Pros. 

Replaced the infinite switch, which took only a few minutes. The part arrived in just two days, which I greatly appreciated. 

I ordered an infinite switch thanks to experienced person I spoke to! 

I replaced the dual element switch for the one burner and the infinity switch on the other. Pro tips: Turn power off at the breaker, do the swap one wire at a time, take a photo of wire locations before you start. 

Removed and replaced dual element infinite switch. 

Shut off power. On the oven back panel, remove six screws. Remove panel. Remove dual burner knob on front panel exposing the screws retaining the infinite switch. Remove two screws. Move wires one at a time from the old switch to the new switch. Line up screw holes in front panel with new switch. Replace two screws. Replace back panel. Replace six screws, starting from the top. Turn power back on.

We ordered new Surface Element Switches and replaced them. 

I went to my first source, YouTube. Over the last 2 years, I have attained 7 Ph.D.'s through it. None of which are recognized. I then surfed the web, found AppliancePartsPro's, and made a call. Before I could even order a part, I was guided to run tests...which required a small investment for another tool. Not a bad thing!
