How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP3672660 / 8203534 Infinite Switch (Surface Burner)

Replaced the infinity switch for that burner. 

Installed a new infinite Switch. Everyone needs to be aware this Switch is not a "plug and play"; it requires you to use two jumper wires that come with the Switch. The instructions are quite good; just take good notes of where you take the wires off from. The old Switch had numbers; whereas the new Switch has letters. 

Took a picture of where the wires went before taking it out. Was a snap to replace. 

Replaced both switches with Infinite switches. Wire diagram included in package made connecting wires very easy for those of us nonelectrically inclined. Both eyes now work fine. 

I diagnosed the problem to be an infinite switch. You helped me find the part number and shipped the switch out promptly. I replaced the switch and everything is working again. Thank you. 

I replaced the infinity switch for the dual element burner. 

Ordered part, followed instructions, and now it works. 

Tripped circuit breaker. Disconnected hard wiring under cabinet. Lifted cooktop and carried out to workbench. Removed screws holding glass top and lifted off. Removed screws holding bottom case. Removed two screws holding switch in place. Turned the element section over and removed the old switch and replaced with the new. My problem: The numbers on the new switch are placed such that they do not exactly indicate which connection goes where. An instruction sheet comes with the new switch correlating the old numbers to the new. My old switch, you guessed it, did not match those number in the instructions. Went to the other dual element switch and, with some difficulty, figured out how to hook it up. Dropped back in cabinet, tested, working fine! 

I replaced the dual element switch. From the time I located the replacement part on ApplianceParts Pros.com to the time I finished, the job was simple. The replacement part was not identical to the old one but the instructions were great. I ordered the part (the cheapest shipping price) at 10 A.M. on a Friday and it arrived ( By FedEx) at 2 P.M. Saturday. I have ordered parts from AppliancePartsPros.com before and have always gotten excellent service. 

I purchased the Whirlpool Switch-inf Part # AP3672660. I had read in the comments others who had the same issue. I removed the cooktop from its opening, opened it up and replaced the switch. Total time: about 30 minutes A cordless screw gun with Phillips head driver and a knife where the only tools required.
