Apparently when the belt broke, the force of the tension pulley hitting on the switch, broke the switch internally. I tested with an ohm reader and it tested negative. I ordered the new part on a Monday around lunch and it got to my home on Wednesday. Installation was easy as I had already had the dryer taken apart. You pretty much have to take the whole dryer apart to get to this part. So if you feel uncomfortable doing it alone, there are plenty of videos on youtube on how to disassemble the dryer. Total time for repair and back working again was about 45 minutes.
