How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6022522 / WPW10514214 Pressure Switch

Bought the flow meter and the HOSE that goes from the meter to the back of the rear trap. This Hose had chafed. It had broke lose from its holder and as the drum agitated had rubbed against the drum. Order an Hose and Meter and take the back of the machine off. The hose may be bad. Replaced the hose. PROBLEM FIXED!!! YIPEE. took off the top to connect the hose to the meter. 

I orderd switch, valve and flowmeter based upon information on line that these three parts were at fault. The videos offered wer excellent.It was easy. The videos took the fear factor out of the equation. 

After reading about this issue on the internet, I performed the suggested test to determine whether the issue was inlet valve or the pressure switch ( http://www.fixya.com/support/r3753262-front_load_washer_fills_when_not_in_use). I shopped around and found the best price at appliancepartpros.com and ordered the pressure switch. When the pressure switch arrived the next day, I went back to the appliancepartpros.com website and followed the very easy video instructions on installing this part. It took this 49 year old grandma less than 5 minutes and just a Philips screwdriver to fix my washer. Thank you so much appliancepartpros.com! 

I replaced the water Inlet flow meter and its been a week and error doesn't come up anymore. 

Replaced flow meter and control valve 

Replaced the water inlet valve as well as the pressure switch. While I was at it replaced flow meter and drain pump. Although the old drain pump was working OK the new one runs much quieter. So far, 4 loads washed and no codes! I believe the pressure switch did the job! 

I ordered the switch, flow meter and hose. Replaced switch and hose in 30 minutes. Didn’t replace flow meter still good, original look sturdier then new one. While at it I cleaned the pump filter (in front bottom) and the reservoir connecting the hose. Both were dirty with gunk. The debris junk in the reservoir probably caused the switch to fail. Removed reservoir, has one screw and an o-ring attached to the main washer. After cleaning the reservoir I used a white lithium grease around the o-ring and the inlet to make a tight seal. Cleaned everything with a cloth and I used long q-tips to remove the gunk inside the reservoir. Also removed the liquid container for detergent and cleaned them. Took probably 1 hr to do all these knowing it's free of gunk and dirt that will not cause a failure in the future These vertical washers are easier for DIY jobs 

Replaced Water Value and Pressure Switch. WP8182862 (AP6011851) WPW10514214 (AP6022522) 

Took the line off the water level sensor and blew air through as it was clogged.
