How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6016540 / WPW10185981 Dryer Timer Assembly

Removed and replaced the Timer. Very easy. Works great. 

We ordered a new timer from Appliance Parts Pros which was $20.00 less than our local appliance stores. Got the part in 3 days, and after watching the video on how to install the timer on appliance part pros web page my husband was able to install the part himself with ease, saving us another $100.00 since we didn't have to pay the local appliance store to send a repair man out to fix it. We did it ourselves thanks to Appliance Part Pros!!! Saving us a total of $120.00!!! Thanks Appliance Part Pros!!! We will defiantly be doing business with your company again in the future!!! Had to replace the whole timer . 

Replaced the timer. 

Bought a new timer. Easy to install. Fixed problem. Would have taken 10 minutes, but it took a little longer because I left the dryer in place, and worked on it reaching over the top from the side to get to the back of the control panel. 

You Tube to troubleshoot. Super smart husband used multi meter to check out all the parts. Found this company to order new name brand replacement timer and coil-valve. Paid for the fastest shipping we could! Within three days dryer is working better than I EVER remember. Thank you 

Watched the video at this companies web site, and decided it was an easy fix. Ordered the part - arrived as expected and worked fine. 

I replaced heat switch, selonoids,thermal fuse,and cycling thermostat, but that did not fix the problem,so i replaced the timer and that did the trick. 

Purchased and installed a new dryer timer ourselves. We are not "handy" people, but it was pretty easy.
