How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6009056 / WP3979618 Dryer Timer

Replaced timer. 

After having watched the video on AppliancePartsPros.com I was able to replace the timer with no problem. It only took 15-20 minutes to complete the job. 

Replace timer switch 

Ordered the part Saturday and the part was here on Tuesday, 15 minute fix 

Removed timer knob. Removed top back. Removed timer. Removed wire spades one at a time wiht help of screwdriver to pry, and slid them into the same positions on the replacement. Reassembled. 

Using model number, I located parts and other comments confirmed what parts were bad as well as visual inspection. Using videos or typical repairs I was able to easily remove, replace and repair dryer very quickly. I also recovered about a $1.78 in loose change from dryer cabinet along with 6 guitar picks 

Traced continuity using schematic and YouTube video. Ordered timer it came the next day. Replaced timer & cleaned lint out of dryer. 

Replace the unit, easy fix. 

Easy, Easy to do, watched the video, getting the connectors off did require a large screwdriver to gently pry them off. Recommend not removing all of the wires off at the same time like in the video, I switched them one at a time to make sure no mistakes.
