How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6008005 / WP33002855 Timer

Replaced the timer 

My bride was away for the weekend - I had to have my stuff washed. I went to use the appliances and they did not work as designed. She told me over the phone to leave her stuff alone. Not me - I got on Appliance Parts Pros and typed in Model and SN, and found the Timers for both units and a rocker switch for the washer. Watched the video for the washer timer, simple fix. Ordered them, a few days later and a #15 Torque a headband flashlight and both timers were changed. I ran a cycle with clothes and they worked perfect. My bride is a happy camper. Happy Wife, Happy life.. 

Watched the video and in 5 mins I was all done, very easy. 

I ordered the new one from appliance parts pros it arrived in a couple of days and fits and works perfectly! Took 5 minutes to open the control panel and replace the timer. Very easy.

After doing some research on this issue, the usual problem is the timer. Took dryer panel off removed old timer, got the part number. Called Appliance Parts Pro. gave model and serial #, part got it fast. Worked like a charm, saved me expensive labor cost. Wife happy, she believes I knew what I was doing. 

For the past few months I had to play with the knob to get the dryer to turn on, eventually it wouldn't turn on at all. Replaced the timer, such an easy fix. Works like a charm now. 

I’m a female and a home DIY’er, but haven’t typically tackled appliance repair. Replaced the timer myself! Took me all of 5 minutes! Should have done this a year ago. Although the timer replacement part was fairly expensive, it wasn’t as expensive as a new dryer. Hopefully I can get a few more years out of the dryer.
