How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6023093 / WPW10568614 Vent Hose

Opened the back of machine and saw that a mouse had eaten holes in all but one of the rubber hoses. Took the top off the machine for better access. Water escaping from the outer drum during spin cycles. After 12 years, the bellow and vent hoses were deteriorating. Because of these breaches allowing moisture into the upper cabinet, the dispenser errored when it was exposed to the moisture. Having these new parts solves this problem. I had to clean the dispenser and the actuator and reassemble. These were fairly simple to replace with basic hand tools in one job. It is made easier with 1/4 drive ratchets and nut drivers. 

Took the old off and replaced it with the new piece and worked like new. 

Found vent hose loose when looking to replace dispenser valve. The plastic coupler was broken. Only took a few minutes to replace vent hose. Too bad one cannot just buy the plastic coupler between hose and tub. It’s expensive to spend all the extra money (probably $35+) to replace parts that are fine. Received vent hose on Sat. Fed Ex shipping expects dispenser valve to be here Thursday. Will only take a couple of minutes to install the valve to complete the repair. Wish parts could have been shipped together.

After watching a brief video on the motor replacement (and receiving the parts) I simply followed the instructions and swapped motors. The vent hose simply has two hose clamps and was easy to replace. Both parts fit perfectly and I'm wearing clean clothes again. 

Opened lid and found that the exhaust hose had broken off the tub (hence the noise when spinning and the leaking water). the moisture from this caused the contacts for the water control to corrode and not turn on. replaced the hose, lightly sanded the corroded contacts, and it's working great again. thanks for your quick shipping!
