Maryann S Owosso , MI March 13, 2014 Appliance: Model 1317798000 My 20 year old frigidaire stackable washer needed the lid switch replaced so it would trigger the spin cycle I unplugged the power source to the appliance. I unscrewed 2 screws and unplugged the lid switch. I replaced the old switch with the new switch and screwed in the same 2 screws that held the old switch in place and plugged the new lid switch back in under the lid. that's it . I plugged in the washer and started a load of clothes. works just fine. NO HUGE REPAIR BILL. Gosh it makes me happy to do such a simple repair to my old machine and for a very reasonable part price, my washer is running like new! thank you also for having such a user friendly web site. p.s the time before the lid switch, I ordered a belt for the old washer from appliance pros and between the new belt and the lid switch the machine is spinning like a new washer. I'm a grandma who is delighted to be my own repair gal. such a savings! 16 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes
