The replacement piece was perfect and easy to install. Success!
Unfortunately, in the process, we couldn't get the oven door back on. So now the original issue is fixed, but the oven has evolved into a large open hole with heating capabilities.
The stovetop, however, works great and has been promoted to primary cooking appliance. The oven door is currently being held shut with tape until further notice, which is a level of engineering I'm choosing to be proud of.
