John T Charlotte , NC December 26, 2025 Appliance: Model CS2985SET3SS Ge cafe gas range electric oven would not heat over @ 200f in bake mode Visually inspected bottom heating element and found that it had failed. There was a @2" gap of missing element and burned debris below the damaged area. This was discovered 3 days before Christmas. 1. Open under oven storage drawer and look on the left inside frame frame for Model ID and Serial No. 2. Search on AppliancePartsPro.com for bottom heating element. 3. Ordered part on Sunday evening before Wednedsay Christmas - with expedited next day delivery. 4. Received order confirmation and shipping confirmation with Tuesday mid-day delivery confirmation. To replace this part. 1. Open Circuit Breaker for oven and verify oven power removed by confirming no lights in the oven control display 2. Open oven door and remove the oven racks. 3. Remove and retain 2- 1/4 " Hex top machine screws that hold the heating element in place. 4. Carefully pull the failed heating element towards the open door while tilting the element up. William P Overland Park , KS October 24, 2019 Bake heating element broke apart and the door gasket was frayed and hard. Heating element was easy to replace unscrewing the two screws and unplugging the connectors from the broken element and then reversing the process to put in the new element. The gasket on the other hand required me to dismantle the door. Remove the old gasket and replaced the new gasket and then putting the door together again. This took some time and there were no instructions for the job so went by the seat of my pants. The gasket fits well and the oven has more consistent heat.
