I ordered a replacement part from AppliancePartsPros.com, however the exact part for my Kitchen Aid dishwasher had been discontinued. There were two differences between the original and replacement part.
First, the original rack had two adjustable tine rows, but the replacement only had one. I was only able to attache one of them to the new rack. This didn't present any issue other than having less flexibility in customizing the configuration for loading large items on the rack.
The second issue was a bit more problematic, but I devised a solution. My original rack had 2 silverware baskets, one large one that fit inside the rack and a small one that clipped to the outside of the rack. The replacement rack was intended to fit one large rack only.
The corner of the original rack was shaped differently to allow the smaller basket to attach with clips onto the outside of the rack. I frequently use the smaller basket for taller utensils because the spray arm doesn't reach that far and interfere with the wash cycle. The replacement rack had sufficient room to place the smaller basket inside the rack but I couldn't clip it in place because the rack was not deep enough to allow the clips to reach the side rails of the rack. So I used 2 plastic zip ties to secure the smaller basket in place. Without the smaller basket in place, my original large silverware basket shifted around because it was too short to span the entire depth of the rack.
I also found the online video EXTREMELY helpful when making the repair. The online chat also assisted me when ordering the replacement part to discover that it was the correct replacement part even though it was shaped differently in the one corner.
