Simple fix. The interior of the dishwasher door has to be removed (8 screws). Once removed, flip the interior cover over and remove the plastic cover which protects the detergent assembly. You will see the two tabs where the spring attaches... and probably portions of the broken spring. Install the new spring and the protective cover. Pay attention before reassembly that the exterior door thas not popped out of it's tab. If so, pop the tab in place. Reinstall interior door cover and you are finished.
