Both of these repairs was extremely easy to accomplish. Glass lens: There is a single Philips screw that holds a frame in which the glass is secured. After removing the screw - being careful to support the frame - the frame swings down and can be removed. There are then 4 metal tabs that you straighten to remove and replace the old lens. Re-assembly is the opposite of the removal. Total time to accomplish: about 5 minutes Charcoal Filter: Amazing, how greasy the microwave can get. To access the filter, remove the two Philips screws holding the grill at the top of the microwave. Then gently but firmly pull and remove the front grill away from the microwave. Directly in the middle of the microwave is where the charcoal filter is located and should be replaced. The grill itself was really greasy. I sprayed it with some heavy duty oven cleaner, let it soak for about 20 minutes and the grease just washed right off. Re-assembly is the opposite of the removal. Time to accomplish: less than 5 minutes 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes
