Ordered a new element ! When I removed the old element, I could not remove the slotted head screw on one connection and wound up breaking the ring off of that wire connector. I simply placed the remaining straight part of the connector which is welded to the wire, on the bottom of the threaded end tab of the new element, instead of the top side. the wire lays nicely between the welded connection of the threaded tab and the new phillips head screw. When I tightened the screw, the wire is traped and securely fastened. This works fine!
