I bought a whole new manifold because it was cheaper than buying a couple of valves only.
Although I am not very handy, using a 2 screwdrivers and an open-end wrench, I removed the broken valve and replaced with valve similarly retrieved from the new manifold. Little liquid soap-water to check the connections, then replaced the cover, the knobs, and -- voila! Cooking with gas!
