Robert S Bennett , WI January 23, 2016 Appliance: Model KITCHEN-AID DUEL FUEL KDRS505X00 Burner control valve was stuck on Replaced complete manifold. Decided to change manifold because one of the other valves was starting to bind and cost wasn't much more for manifold versus one valve. Fairly easy to do. Just make sure you use leak detection fluid after to check that your connection is not leaking. Had to remove top to get at spark wiring connector under rear area of cover. Also be careful of sharp edges on metal cover. On this appliance you can hold the start button for 5 seconds and the gas valve shuts off ( same as if the power goes off). Read the operators manual. When done check that all the burners work proper and gas shuts off. Edward J Freehold , NJ February 05, 2016 Appliance: Maytag 30`` Electric Freestanding Self Clean Range Convection MGT8885XW00 One of the five surface vavle burners on cooktop maytag oven needed to be replaced Without taking apart the top of the cooktop with all the burners i just replaced the bad one which happened to be on the extreme left. it was difficult as i had little space to work with but a couple of 13 mm wrenches got it going and i did it.instead of ordering a single burner for $71 ,i got the manifold with 5 burners attached and removed one. i now have an inventory of 4 more! I thought the price difference was crazy!!! i paid 114 for the manifold. the problem with replacing the manifold was that the top of the stove needs to be removed and some of the screws have disintegrated and have to be drilled out? replacing just the bad valve that froze after 5 years was something i could do myself.i searched the internet, maytag etc and only your site had a picture of the manifold so that i knew i was ordering the right part. it took 4 days but that included a weekend so that was ok with the fed ex tracking updates etc. you guys are great!!! it took over an hr because i was careful and also cleaned the floor after moving the stove away from the wall etc. Read More... 2 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 1-2 hours Tools: Screwdrivers, Wrench Set

Thomas R Tucson , AZ June 20, 2016 Appliance: KitchenAid 30" Dual Fuel Freestanding Range KDRS505XSS01 Burner valve broken I bought a whole new manifold because it was cheaper than buying a couple of valves only. Although I am not very handy, using a 2 screwdrivers and an open-end wrench, I removed the broken valve and replaced with valve similarly retrieved from the new manifold. Little liquid soap-water to check the connections, then replaced the cover, the knobs, and -- voila! Cooking with gas! Read More... Erik R Cable , WI May 27, 2016 Appliance: KitchenAid 30" Dual Fuel Freestanding Range KDRS505XSS01 I had something leaking propane by the burner control valves I purchased the complete new manifold rather than guessing which or how many valves were leaking. The repair wasn't too difficult, but I spent a lot of time cleaning the cook top parts before reassembly. Remove the knobs, remove 6 black screws, remove cover over manifold. Remove 4 screws and a bracket, remove burner caps and 10 torx head screws and the burner hobs. 2 more screws in the front of the cook top. 4 that hold the manifold to the top and it's apart. I used flare nut wrenches to remove the gas lines from the manifold. The new part fit perfectly and now my range no longer has a propane smell every time I walk by it. I probably could have replaced the manifold with out taking the entire top off, but it really needed the cleaning. Not a hard job, just time consuming. Read More...
