Wire connected to heating element had melted. Thankfully it tripped the breaker, so I knew something bad was happening. Watched several videos on diagnosing the problem. Had ordered a cheap replacement heating element in June of this year. I'll never do that again. The parts list contains diagrams of my dryer, plus videos of each part to help with installation. I decided the lint buildup was potentially a very dangerous situation, so I did a full clean out of the dryer. Front panel off, removed heater box and lint chute. Cleaned EVERYTHING. While cleaning, I noticed the dryer belt was frayed, so I ordered a new one. When I pulled the drum out, I noticed the roller wheels were absolutely shot, so ordered those too. I did a next day delivery because I do laundry every day. Dryer is 15 years old and working like new after the fixes. Very thankful for this website, pics and videos!!
