Ginger O Knoxville , TN April 17, 2015 Appliance: General Electric General Electric GTDP300EM1WS Ge Dryer Gtdp300em1ws / : Clothes dryer timer shaft broken off. How to replace Knob Clip. First I went to Do It Yourself.com and placed a thread in the appliance section regarding my problem. They have group moderators who then review your question and give you an answer and plan of attack. I then went to your website and looked up the parts that I would need for repair, and I ordered them. Each part has a repair video listed and I watched each video. My parts came and I proceeded to repair per the instruction videos. While the repair in the video was not exactly the same (different colored wires, different screw types) it was very helpful to see the repair done in video. The helpful tips on what problems I might run into helped a bunch. The main problem I had was getting the screws out of the back panel to remove it for repair. Several were terribly stuck- I ended up bending the metal panel down with some screws still in tightly. Unhooked the old timer wires, connected wires to new timer. Seated timer into place. Closed back panel and put on new knob. All fixed! 5 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 1-2 hours
