The refrigerator side was warm so I checked resistances and found 2 of 4 thermisters bad and so replaced all of them. Then the refrigerator started freezing up so I checked the damper door and found the door broken off. I don't think the freeze broke the door but it could have. The refrigerator works better now than it has since we moved in 8 years ago. I also found the gaskets around the evaporator cover curled up into the evaporator and scorched by the defroster element. I suspect that the bad evaporator thermister caused the defroster element to overheat and differential expansion caused the gaskets to pull away from the cover and curl.
