After ordering the replacement motor for my Kenmore side by side and after reading how easy the replacement kit worked, I was disappointed that for $112 plus shipping I still had to retro-fit the new motor assembly which took an additional 1 hour because there was no specific model installation instructions for my model. The new motors mounting holes were not in the same place as the original motor mounts. Thus, it was necessary to mark the old motor placement on the original bracket and drill 1 new mounting screw hole to insure proper fan shroud clearance as the bracket only had 1 predrilled hole to mount the motor that would work. The included mounting bracket was not applicable and my model required a difficult removal of the old motor mount bracket due to compressor and water lines in the way. It would've been nice to have specific model removal and installation instructions. The entire removal and installation took me 2 1/2 hours to complete mostly due to lack of instructions for my specific model. In addition, the original motor appears to be more heavy duty with visible front & rear bearing inserts and made of a sort of bakelite material. In relationship, the new Panasonic motor is lighter and all plastic with a much smaller shaft. My refrigerator is about 10 years old so I'm not disappointed with the original performance of its components. I only hope that the new motor will last as long.
