Trent S Bethlehem , PA May 27, 2014 Appliance: Model FRIGIDARE 106.71194100 The outside of my frigidare refrigerator felt hot near the door gasket on both side of the freezer I found several "threads" on my google search which indicated that it might be caused by a non-functional condenser fan. I removed the back bottom panel and voila, the fan was not spinning even though the compressor was running and felt very hot. If I spun the blades, the fan would run, but as soon as the compressor shut off, it would not start up again without my help. The replacement part was easy to find at AppliancePartsPros.com. I ordered it and had it within 48 hours. I didn't even need the bracket which was supplied; the motor and fan blade fit exactly in the existing mounting fixture. Sure enough, that solved my problem. The outside walls are no longer hot. The installation was very easy. The hardest part of the whole assembly was pressing the fan onto the motor shaft. I happen to own a woodworking vice; I used that to press the blade onto the shaft. Steve M Whitewater , WI December 22, 2015 Appliance: Kenmore Refrigerator 10655232400 Compressor cooling fan motor quit working After ordering the replacement motor for my Kenmore side by side and after reading how easy the replacement kit worked, I was disappointed that for $112 plus shipping I still had to retro-fit the new motor assembly which took an additional 1 hour because there was no specific model installation instructions for my model. The new motors mounting holes were not in the same place as the original motor mounts. Thus, it was necessary to mark the old motor placement on the original bracket and drill 1 new mounting screw hole to insure proper fan shroud clearance as the bracket only had 1 predrilled hole to mount the motor that would work. The included mounting bracket was not applicable and my model required a difficult removal of the old motor mount bracket due to compressor and water lines in the way. It would've been nice to have specific model removal and installation instructions. The entire removal and installation took me 2 1/2 hours to complete mostly due to lack of instructions for my specific model. In addition, the original motor appears to be more heavy duty with visible front & rear bearing inserts and made of a sort of bakelite material. In relationship, the new Panasonic motor is lighter and all plastic with a much smaller shaft. My refrigerator is about 10 years old so I'm not disappointed with the original performance of its components. I only hope that the new motor will last as long.
