Took off the control panel, disconnected the components, reconnected them, and the panel miraculously came back to life. (Screwdriver needed)
Replaced the gasket , which was 13 years old and original, to be proactive.(No tools required.)
The old one had become darkened and brittle on the bottom.
Easiest fix ever!
