Heidi W Fort Mill , SC January 26, 2017 Controls activating spontaneously beeping The dryer behaved as if I were pressing buttons on the keypad. Dryer beeps, display lights up. This would happen in the middle of the night or even in the middle of a cycle. After running the control diagnostic listed on the service technician sheet inside, I found it was the "Sensor Dry" button. Unplugging the keypad from the control circuit board (turn the power off first) would cause the misbehavior to stop. The repair was easy, only requiring a #2 Phillips head screwdriver and 5 minutes. Turn the power off, remove the top row of screws behind the console, gently pry the metal plate back away from the console and pivot the console forward. Unplug the flat keypad cable, being careful not to bend the pins on the control board. It helps to lift up on both ends at the same time. Remove the four screws holding the plastic control board bracket, and move it over to the new console. Once again careful with the keypad connector plugging it in. There's a small plastic filler plate on the back of the old console on the right side, it should be moved over. Console on, screws in. That's it!
