Checked the breaker switch, no effect, checked power at the cooktop connection, on and off with the breaker. I shy away from electronics, but the repair guy that came out took the cooktop apart, hooked up a volt meter to the upper board and said that the lower board was not working correctly. He said it would take 2 weeks to get the part. Well, that's not happening, so I ordered the part got both boards overnight and installed them myself. Everything works fine now, saved time and money.
