I was told by a service tech that the door lock switch was bad. I replaced the lock (from you folks) and it still was not working and made a strange noise when powered up. How to replace Motor Control. Upon further examination, I found that when the tech tried to remove the motor control (for some unknown reason) he screwed down on one of the wires (pinched) and grounded the unit to the case. I can only assume that that was the cause of the strange noise. The error codes noted that the motor control was bad (which the tech never checked). I found that the removal of this item was made very difficult by one of the connectors being impossible to unclip from the socket and had to break it off the board. I repaired the broken wire and was then able to install the new unit quickly. So much for the quality of the Appliance techs these days.....
