The door cables attach to springs that help the user open/close the dishwasher door. I attached the new door cables to the springs then attached springs to the intended mounting locations on the door. However, the new cables were shorter than the originals. This created enough tension in the springs to cause the door to close by itself. I was forced to change the springs' mounting locations. Fortunately, I was able to attach the springs to cut-outs in the door that reduced spring tension. The springs are still a little tight, but the door no longer closes by itself.
