I originally ordered the switch because that's what I assumed the problem was because I didn't want to disassemble and re-assemble twice. Don't assume.After taking the assembly apart to replace the switch, guess what! The actuator stud that activates the switch was broken. Repeat the process anyway. Moral? Troubleshoot once, repair once.
