These springs work great but I did find some issues when installing them. Here's what I did: 1) Turn off the power to the dishwasher at the circuit breaker or fuse panel. Once you remove the kick panel there are a lot of exposed wires that carry live power. 2) Remove the kick panel. There are 4 screws (on mine one was missing). A nut driver makes it much easier. A flat blade screwdriver can be used but it will be much more frustrating. 3) Latch the dishwasher door and remove the access covers for the springs that are held in place by one screw. 4) Unhook the old spring at the bottom first then push it up and over to to get the top out. A flat blade screwdriver can help with this. 5) (optional) On my dishwasher the clearance on the sides was such that I had to trim the plastic bushing a bit with a knife so it would fit between the spring arm and the cabinet. The old bushing didn't have the extra plastic that protects against the end of the spring scrapping on the cabinet. If you take off a small amount like an 1/8" it will fit and still protect the spring. 6) Unhook the door latch so you can open it an inch or two. This moves the spring arm back in front of the access door and makes is easier to install the new spring. 7) Insert the new spring through the access opening and put the top of the new spring on first. It may require a little wiggling but it should pop in and then you can pull it down to seat it in the groove. Make sure to put it in the front opening as described on the instruction sheet. 8) Now latch the door closed again and pull down on the bottom of the spring to hook it under the first hole, closest to the front of the machine. 9) Now do steps 1-3 in reverse order to reassemble everything and finish the job. 3 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes
