This is an extremely easy repair. Loosen 2 screws and remove cover plate, slip new part in slot, replace cover. Dryer can be fixed in place. In my case the broken latch had fallen Inside and I wanted to retrieve it so I removed top and used a cable parts grabber to retrieve it. This device was purchased at a tool store, it’s about two feet long.
