Thanks to the wealth of information online, including on AppliancePartsPros, I was able to easily follow maintenance diagrams to do the repair. The trickiest part was that it is a stacked unit in an alcove, but thanks to a magnetic screwdriver and a sturdy ladder I was able to do it without having to move the dryer.
I'm definitely not an experienced repair person, but the online diagrams gave me all the info I needed to be confident in what I was doing. The complete repair cost about 1/2 of what just a consultation visit would have been.
