Sharon T Woodbridge , VA February 28, 2016 Appliance: Model KITCHEN AID SUPERBA STOVE The dual broil/bake element had burned out I ordered a new dual oven element from appliancepartspro, it arrived within just a couple of days. We watched the video on the website showing you how to replace it, it estimated about 15-30 mins for the job. And given if we had been able to remove the oven door that's all it would have taken, but unfortunately we could not take the door of due to the stoves location, it would have been a big headache. So we decided to contortion our body to do the job, and trust me it's uncomfortable the next day when your back and knees are hurting. Nevertheless the installation was fairly straightforward, we used a couple of line pegs to nip the connector wires because you don't have a lot of give to pull the element forward so you need to be ready to clips them wires off to stop them slipping back through the hole. Clips worked well, we used pliers to hold onto the wire connector to separate the wire from the element as it was a little stiff due to the stove being 14 years old. Once off everything went pretty smoothly reconnecting the new element, use a magnetic screw driver when putting the screws back in as they are very tiny and you could drop and lose them. When we kicked up the stove you do get a little smoke residue that comes from the newness but that disappeared after 10 mins. All in all a cost effective and doable repair for two novices, way better than spending $1000 on a new one ?????? 3 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes
