Steven W Tallahassee , FL August 25, 2016 Burned out your broiling element in oven When I ordered the correct part from Appliance Parts Pro and, here's the big takeaway, I watched the accompanying video. With this repair there were 4 connectors coming thru 2 openings of the rear oven wall. In the video it advised to tie a twist tie around each so they couldn't slip back into the rear panel. If they did it would have required pulling the oven out, removing the back and guiding the connectors back thru the rear wall openings. TWIST TIES...Wise words!!!! Did as instructed and the repair went smooth and quick...20 minutes or so. Sharon T Woodbridge , VA February 28, 2016 Appliance: Model KITCHEN AID SUPERBA STOVE The dual broil/bake element had burned out I ordered a new dual oven element from appliancepartspro, it arrived within just a couple of days. We watched the video on the website showing you how to replace it, it estimated about 15-30 mins for the job. And given if we had been able to remove the oven door that's all it would have taken, but unfortunately we could not take the door of due to the stoves location, it would have been a big headache. So we decided to contortion our body to do the job, and trust me it's uncomfortable the next day when your back and knees are hurting. Nevertheless the installation was fairly straightforward, we used a couple of line pegs to nip the connector wires because you don't have a lot of give to pull the element forward so you need to be ready to clips them wires off to stop them slipping back through the hole. Clips worked well, we used pliers to hold onto the wire connector to separate the wire from the element as it was a little stiff due to the stove being 14 years old. Once off everything went pretty smoothly reconnecting the new element, use a magnetic screw driver when putting the screws back in as they are very tiny and you could drop and lose them. When we kicked up the stove you do get a little smoke residue that comes from the newness but that disappeared after 10 mins. All in all a cost effective and doable repair for two novices, way better than spending $1000 on a new one ?????? Beryl W North Garden , VA March 13, 2015 Upper dual broil element was not working I ordered the part on line, and it was delivered on the date APP stated as an expected delivery date. I watched the video on the website which was very helpful, and gave some good tips to make the repair go much easier (using twist ties around the exposed wires so they didn't slip back into the back wall of the oven). The hardest part of the whole repair was getting the screws on the back plate of the unit, inside the oven, loose. After 15 years of heat, they took more than a simple screw driver to remove. Once the old unit was out, I followed the tips on the video, and the new unit went right in. I put the oven door back on and... I can bake again!! Michelle N Shrewsbury , MA April 26, 2017 Broken broil element Unplug oven from power supply. Unscrewed 2 screws from inside back of oven (these were corroded a bit and difficult to remove). Separated the element from the wires using a wiggling up and down and side to side movement (you can't just pull straight out). Fit the new element into the wires and recreated to the back of the oven. Slipped the top support brackets into place and done. Took about 40 minutes only because of the difficulties with the screws and wires.
