I got the E:04 error occasionally for a few months until finally, it stopped draining altogether. The manual offers “use less detergent” as a possible solution, but it became apparent it was more serious than that and I finally accepted the fact that the drain pump had to be replaced. Ordering a replacement from APP went smoothly and I had the new pump within two days. I lined the front access hole with duct tape (thanks to suggestions from other reviewers) to avoid cutting my hands and, with the help of YouTube videos, swapped out the old pump within about an hour. The front access hole appears claustrophobically small, but it IS (just) big enough to do the job.
