Gerald S Westminster , MD March 22, 2018 Error code on LG refrigerator fan replacement Our LG frig kept getting an error code on the display indicating a problem with the defrost cycle. The code suggested could be this, could be that. But I noticed that the fan in the freezer unit was periodically running louder than normal. Took a chance and ordered parts to replace the fan unit. Followed the AppliancePartsPros repair video and all went well. The set-up in my freezer unit was slightly different than the one in the video but the repair concept was the same. Without the video I wouldn't have known how to remove the back panel without cracking the panel. It looks to me like the plastic molded fan blade in the original fan may have had a defect that stressed the fan motor over time. The new fan works fine and there is no more error message. Aside from saving money on the repair, it is also very difficult to find a repairman to come out to our cabin in West Virginia. Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes
