Keith S Carmel , CA December 04, 2015 Appliance: Model THERMIDOR C271US Error codes after turning off a hot oven eventually leading to relay board failure and over temp I had a spare relay board, so I changed it. But to finally address the root cause, I changed the door hinges and the door seal. Videos from Appliancepartspros were quite helpful, but we're too generic on one point. Thermidor oven hinge springs must be released before they can be removed frm the door. This fact and how to do it were not covered. The need was obvious once the door was disassembled and the hinges were exposed. But I am very cautious about compressed springs when I don't know how strong they really are! I found another video which assured me that by placing a screwdriver handle across the hinge hook and leaning on it, the hinges could be released safely. After reassembling the door in order to make a stable platform, the rest was a snap! (without any loud snaps ;-). Would have been 10 minutes without confusion over the springs. 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes
