After removing it and cleaning up the exposed parts and connections, concluded that the motor had simply died. AppliancePartsPro made finding the replacement part very simple. I double-checked the part number on Sears website (they also offered a replacement part, but for a few dollars more). The new fan/motor arrived in just a few days and it took less than 5 minutes to install it.
