Turned water off to appliance. Then turned power off and pulled dishwasher out of cabinet.
Drained water from dishwasher and turned it on it's side. I then disconnected water line and discharge hose from dishwasher. I removed the drain pump and hose and replaced the flapper valve. I then put it back together and reinstalled it in the cabinet. Total time for repair was approximately 30 minutes.
