Placed electrical tape around perimeter of control panel on freezer to protect the freezer from scratches. Used 1.5 inch stiff putty blade pushed up under the edges of the control panel. This takes more prying pressure than you might be comfortable with. Essentially, you are going to break the anchor tabs on the control panel to get it loose. Be patient. Once control panel is removed, remove the electrical tape and clean the area as needed. Inserting the new control panel is easy. Insert slowly to assure the electrical connector pins engage properly. The control panel will click into place. This solved my problem. Thanks!
