Bought the complete coil assembly, and separated the heater tube. Had to bend each tang that held the heater tube. Took some time, but honestly was not that big of a deal. Took a fill day to defrost before turning back on, as the drain port in the fridge was completely frozen. Not too mention a hidden block of ice in the fan assembly. Note: You want to keep the new lower metal tray, so you need a pair of snips or dikes to cut the single pop rivet. You don't have to re-rivet. Note2: The evaporator coils will bend a little, so you can work the new heater coils in, but be careful not to bend to much. Note3: The new assembly comes with two new sensors. It doesn't make any sense not to replace them as well. This of course, saved me the effort of paying a tech to sweat in the new evaporator. If you put wages to my time, I in no way saved money if you account for the hours, but if your strapped for cash, this is the way to go. Lots of folks are having this problem, but few, it appears, are using this method. They constantly have the same issue in a couple of months. That is, if they let everything completely defrost. I've manually defrosted 5 times before this repair, the last time not giving out enough time for all the ice to melt, it only lasted one month. Anyway folks, this is the way to go. Change the heater coil yourself.
