I have a Whirlpool dryer I bought used and it wasn't heating enough. I tested for continuity on the heating element, and it tested ok, but it looked like half of it was getting hotter than the other half (judging from the metal discoloration on the element). Other parts did not have continuity: thermal fuse, cycling thermostat, and the parts in the thermal cut-off kit. So I replaced all the above parts, including the heating element, and the dryer worked wonderfully. Previously we had to run the dryer for two or three cycles to dry clothes. Now they are dry in one cycle. The challenge to this repair for me was re-wiring the high-limit thermostat. The video assumes that you know how to crimp and secure the jumper wire and the orange wire to the new connectors. It is displayed visually in the video but there is no direction given. I hadn't used a connector like this before, and I'm not terribly handy, so I struggled with this part of the repair and it ended up taking me two or three attempts to connect the wire and crimp the connector properly. But, I did learn what not to do for next time! Overall it is an easy repair, my novice skill level is what made it harder than it needed to be.
