Replaced entire heating element assembly even though it likely was only the thermal fuse. Buying the pre-assembled unit made things go so fast and not much more than buying individual parts.
One thing to note - at least with my dyer the fuse and high limit thermostat connections were flipped - the new assembly had each of them oriented 180 degrees from the original. All it meant was the video was absolutely correct but my picture from the actual dryer was wrong. I determined this from the writing on the thermostat, since otherwise the circuits appear symmetrical.
