The replacement cover looked exactly like the original. One side has two tabs. The other side has tabs and clips that hold the cover in place. On my oven, the side with clips was facing the door. This made it easy to lift the cover from the microwave and insert a small pin to push the clip in and release the cover. It's worthwhile to remove the cover without breaking it. If you try to pry the cover off you risk bending the stainless steel ceiling of the microwave and also, breaking the plastic tabs off up inside the holes in the microwave ceiling. It would be really hard to get those pieces out through the small holes the tabs slide into.
