My Kenmore has 2 philips screws beneath the splash tray to remove the control panel from the freezer door. The panel is wired with a ribbon harness held together by a finger tab. Disconnected the panel and set aside. There is another panel at the top of the opening held in place by two standard screws. I removed the screws and moved the loosened panel to allow easier access to the dispenser lever. This avoided twisting the chute when snapping it in place, which was the simplest aspect of the repair. While all of the above elements were out of the way and prior to placing the chute, I cleaned the outside of the ice chute door which tends to build up mold due to the moist conditions. Project time included all of these steps.
