Ice maker was not making ice for about 3 weeks. I started doing research on line about the issues. One option was to replace the water filter, in which mine was over due for replacement. The other was to replace the the "water inlet valve." I did both then waited about 12 hours and I could hear the valve open to supply water to the ice maker. Since the ice bin was empty it took about 2 days to fill up, I now have ice!!!!!
The repair was fairly simple and did not take more that 15 minutes. I took several pictures of the project before I started so I could make sure I put it back together correctly. Take this time also to clean that area with a vacuum. Get a towel because there will be some water draining from the Ice Water portion of the valve. It is also helpful to use a 3/8 inch open wrench to push up against the nylon collar locks that hold the tubing in place on the valve and don't forget to reinstall the black clips on the valve. I'm really glad that this valve was the fix due to the "Ice Maker" is no longer available for my model Refrigerator.
