Sanford H Aurora , CO October 03, 2015 Appliance: Model WHIRL POOL MOD. TES325KQ An 8 inch range element wouldn't heat The present element resistance was 23 ohms. The tech suggested I replace it with a factory part number.I did..No change. The original element had an internal high resistance short to the outer frame. This caused the infinity switch to fail. I replaced the element and the infinity switch which solved the problem. Once I discovered the problem and had the new parts in hand; the repaid took15 minutes to fix. It only took about five hour to discover the real problem. In over 60 years of repairing appliances; I have never seen this kind of an internal failure of an element. 9 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 2+ hours
